  ime is Our Precious Gift
Feeling Good . . .

Time . . . what’s that like for you?  Too much time - not enough time - time flies by too fast?

Time is the most precious resource we have because it is limited.  None of us knows when our time on this planet will end.  We can’t halt children growing up or our own passing years or the changing of things around us.  Yet we can choose how we use our time.

I love the following imagery passed to me by a client:

Imagine you have a bank account that credits your account each morning with £86,400 for you to spend.  It does not carry any balance forward from day to day; it does not allow an overdraft, the bank just deletes anything not used each day.

What would you do?  Draw it all out?

Each of us has such a bank.  It’s name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.  Every night it writes off as lost, whatever of this you didn’t invest to good purpose.  It carries over no balance.  It allows no overdraft.

Each day it opens a new account for you.  Each night it deletes what you didn’t make use of. The loss is yours.  There is no drawing against tomorrow.

How do you use your 86,400 seconds each day?  How much of your time is spent ‘in the moment’, appreciating each moment and using it to your highest good?   In awareness of living the precious gift of your life?

Or how much is spent with negative thoughts and feelings and focus that drag you down?

“I’m so busy.” “I’ve never got enough time.”  Is this true - or just about choice on what we prioritise?  I know that I have often felt (and said!) “There’s not enough hours in a day”, yet who is actually making me do what I do?  I love having a full and interesting life - yet I equally know I can make it significantly ‘unbusy’ when I want to spend the holidays with my daughter.

If we’re feeling overwhelmed, what difference would it make if we just chose to take care of ourself first and foremost (as the selfless thing to do - we’re no good to anyone burnt out) and set our boundaries accordingly?

From today, what could you choose to re-prioritise in your life to enhance your own well-being?

How could prioritise more time for laughter?  Of feeling the appreciating of the beauty of nature and all your blessings?  Of being in the moment of everything you are doing - even it’s unblocking a drain - so that you are witnessing your own precious life?

How could you choose to spend your 86,400 seconds today, to feel good?

Whatever you choose, enjoy!
